How To Grow Self Confidence As A Lady Entrepreneur

Argh when I think of the work self confidence and being an entrepreneur, there is so many things that come to mind. Now, just because we start out with it doesn’t mean we always have it throughout our career or journey.

So let me give you a rundown, on my thoughts of what exactly how to keep on top of your confidence whilst holding everything in your business together.

Firstly, I am going to say YOU are YOUR business!

Self-confidence is important in all areas of life, but when it comes to entrepreneurs and business dealings it is a must have, non negotiable quality. Think about it – when you live the life of an entrepreneur you have to do all the tasks every day.

It is also the one thing I know I struggled with a lot because one we are women and two, we are doing so much ie. Family, partners etc. It’s something I have to be conscious of and address every time I have to face big changes and decisions.

The challenge of being an entrepreneur is that it can get lonely. When you have a vision these brilliant business ideas you came up with all by yourself the chatter starts and you have to try and turn that idea you’re your vision and reality, it can be difficult and isolating.

We find ourselves in the position that the most dearest and closest to us just don’t get it. I can’t tell you how many times I came across blank faces when I was trying to explain what it is that I do. That isolation can rattle your self-confidence, and if it wasn’t strong and you had fears to begin with, it can become crippling.

What we need to do is create an environment and a process that reaffirms our self-confidence and our belief in our vision.

WHAT CAN WE DO?

There are a few actionable steps we can take to make sure we are in the right frame of mind for personal and business growth. As I have mentioned many times before, mindset is an intricate part of our business success.

The right mindset coupled with self-confidence will put you on the right path.

Now I am not saying you need to do this once, and your sorted. No I am actually saying the complete opposite – it is a continual work in progress….

Here are some ideas:

Talk yourself up! People would ask me what I do and I would mumble something about content creation, social media and work from home. I realised I was making myself small. Why? I lacked the self-confidence to say I own my own business. I lacked the confidence because I still couldn’t believe I had a fully booked out business that I had created and built myself.

These days I practice the advice a mentor gave me a while back and I urge you to do the same. Once a day, find someone to talk to about your business. About what it is that you DO. What you offer. Say it out loud, and slowly but surely it becomes second nature and it will impact your self-confidence. Be Proud! If you can build a business you can do anything my friend!

The other thing that helped me was to know what my brand stood for. I know each and every day I had to make decisions every day about other peoples business apart from my own. Now making decisions is really overwhelming but if you know what you stand for and what you are capable of you already know the answers to the decisions that need to be made. Get to know it inside and out. If you love and live your brand and you are excited about it then you can talk about it all day long. That in itself oozes confidence.

Start being a life learner. I know for me if I don’t know something I research it until I do. There is nothing more empowering then leaning a new skill.

I also love listening to podcasts, courses, etc. and if you don’t know what they are talking about looking it up. I cannot tell you how much Google was my best friend, especially in the beginning of my entrepreneurial journey. I still never say no to anything, I tell people that if I don’t know something, I will research it and get back to them. There is always going to be information on tasks, services, actions that you don’t know, be able and willing to learn or at least be in the know.

This alone is what is going to make you a confident entrepreneur and as you grow as a business you are going to be learning new levels of business every single time to get a new client or you pivot or you rebrand or the biggest one when social media changes!

And don’t be afraid to tell people you don’t know something, if you can find someone that knows everything then I would like to meet them. No one is perfect and we are all on a path to Mastery.
